Congradulations Gulf War Vets. They have found a problem which they are now calling "Gulf War Syndrome." Ten years down the pike it's official. There's something going on.
The Brits insist it is caused by the anthrax vaccine, and the genetic traces in the body are identicle with the vaccine. In the USA they can't agree. This year the official reason was tracer bullets as the likly cause of the syndrome. Now, the dominant theory is that the pills they gave combat people are the likly cause. They agree more research is needed.

The National Resource Directory encompasses more than 10,000 services and resources. This new website also allows visitors to find help and resources in their own state by clicking on a state map.
"This directory is valuable for our returning wounded warriors and their positive reintegration back into mainstream American life," said Neil Romano, assistant secretary for the Labor Department's Office of Disability Employment Policy.

BREVARDIANS SAVE $253,000 ON PRESCRIPTION DRUGS
IN 4 MONTHS
VIERA, Fla. – Brevard County managers are thrilled with the savings of more than $253,000 on prescription drugs by Brevard County residents in the past four months through the NACo/Caremark Prescription Discount Drug Card.
The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners approved providing the free program to the residents of Brevard County in May, and the program began in August. Since then, the card has been used by 8,600 residents to purchase over 24,000 prescriptions, with a total savings of $253,128.
Brevard is one of the heaviest users of the program in Florida , with October’s savings of $113,456 exceeding that of all other counties except Palm Beach , Pasco , and St. Lucie.
The discount drug card can be used by Brevard County residents, regardless of age, income or existing health coverage. There are no enrollment fees, restrictions or limits on frequency of use and an entire family can use one card for their purchases. The card program offers an additional safety benefit feature that alerts pharmacists when one drug may conflict with another medication that was purchased using the discount card.
The NACo card helps consumers save money on their prescription medications any time their prescription is not covered by insurance, including a Medicare Part D plan. Brevard residents who are uninsured or under-insured are able to save an average of 22 percent off retail prices, depending on the drug and quantity of purchase. Card holders can also save on pet medications through retail pharmacies.
The program is subsidized by the National Association of Counties.

Retired military families who have children with autism will have their health care benefits protected if bipartisan legislation introduced by Virginia Congressman James P. Moran (D-8) and Florida Congressman Jeff Miller (R) is enacted into law.
"Our soldiers risk their lives on the battlefield in service to their country. It is incumbent upon us to care for them and their families when they return home.
For retired military families with an autistic child, this benefit is a lifeline for their child's future and the family's financial future," Moran said.
A Lifeline for Military Families
Designated as the Military Family Autism Equality Act, HR 3690 will provide retired military families who have children with autism with the same health care benefits as families of active duty service members with children with autism. Department of Defense statistics indicate there are an estimated 8,784 retiree families that will benefit from this legislation.
Serving the Children of Those Who Have Served Active duty service members who have a child with autism have access to benefits through TRICARE which provides $2,500 a month (a max of $30,000 per year) for Applied Behavioral Analysis, a proven treatment for the symptoms of autism. Unfortunately, the day an active duty military person retires, their dependents lose access to the ABA benefit, according to Moran and Miller. This loss occurs if the retirement is voluntary or is forced at the end of their career obligation.

For retired military families with an autistic child, this benefit is a lifeline for their child's future and the family's financial future," Moran said.
A Lifeline for Military Families
Designated as the Military Family Autism Equality Act, HR 3690 will provide retired military families who have children with autism with the same health care benefits as families of active duty service members with children with autism. Department of Defense statistics indicate there are an estimated 8,784 retiree families that will benefit from this legislation.
Serving the Children of Those Who Have Served Active duty service members who have a child with autism have access to benefits through TRICARE which provides $2,500 a month (a max of $30,000 per year) for Applied Behavioral Analysis, a proven treatment for the symptoms of autism. Unfortunately, the day an active duty military person retires, their dependents lose access to the ABA benefit, according to Moran and Miller. This loss occurs if the retirement is voluntary or is forced at the end of their career obligation.
